5 Benefits Of Dental Implants

Dentist Blog

People can lose teeth for a number of reasons, whether due to the impact of an accident or because of extreme decay and infection that requires a tooth to be extracted. There are several options for replacing missing teeth, including bridges, partial dentures, or complete dentures. But one of the most popular procedures for replacing missing teeth is having dental implants inserted into the jaw. There are many benefits to dental implants, including:

Preserve the Bone in the Jaw

The bone in the jaw is responsible for anchoring teeth and keeping them in place. When a tooth is missing, the jawbone can begin to deteriorate, lose strength, and become less firm. Dental implants can solve this problem and help preserve the health of the jaw bone. When a dental implant is inserted, a small metal rod is actually placed directly into the jaw. This action can actually help stimulate and restore bone growth if the tooth has been missing for a while, or prevent bone loss if the loss of the tooth was a recent event.

Natural-Looking Smile

Since a dental implant is inserted in the jaw just like a regular tooth, its position and appearance is very natural. Your dentist will choose a dental implant that is similar in color to your other teeth so it blends in, making it difficult to tell which tooth is false.

No Speech Difficulty

Bridges and dentures can take a while to get used to, and their design can disrupt the speech of some people and make them hard to understand. Dental implants do not create these problems, so you should not have any problems talking after you get the procedure done.

Easy to Care For

Unlike other tooth replacement options, a dental implant does not require any special cleaners or extra maintenance to keep it healthy. Just maintain a good oral hygiene routine with regular brushing and flossing. Additionally, dental implants generally do not require any extra dental appointments after they are completely inserted—regular dental check-ups and cleanings are all you will need.

Strength and Durability

Since a dental implant is inserted into the jaw bone, it offers strength and durability that other tooth replacement options do not have. When inserted by an implant dentist experienced in dental implants and cared for properly, dental implants have been shown to last for 25 years. Dental implants are a great choice for people who want to replace a missing tooth without having to worry about it for years after the process is done.

The Reasons Why You Should Get A Root Canal

Hi, my name is Kevin Nelson and I want to tell you about my experience. I had a painful tooth so I went to see my dentist. After the examination, he said that I needed to have a root canal to save the tooth. I told the dentist to just pull the tooth instead and then he explained why that wasn't a good idea. He said that pulling the tooth would cause additional problems and then he told me what could happen. I didn't want any more problems, so the dentist did the root canal and I'm glad that he did. I wanted to write a blog to tell others about the benefits of a root canal and what to expect during the procedure. I hope that by getting the word out, other people won't make the same mistake that I almost did by getting a perfectly good tooth pulled.
